I don't want this taking up space on the main page, so I will put it in the comments:
ReplyDelete1) The English version was finished first, so there will be no Chinese release until later.
2) The cleaning technique was changed to make darkening easier and preserve some details. It may or may not be the permanent style. I will also try to remove the gridding and smooth the screentones out in future chapters.
3) The Colored Supplement is now a rar file.

ReplyDeleteBroken files in fact, at least in mediafire .rar. The .rar has all the normal image files, as well as some weird copies of every file that are in apparently just blank.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to repack and re-upload this chapter after deleting these pointless files from .rar. That said, the files don't do anything (except take a bit of space and make cdisplay whine about them).
Otherwise, good job as usual, thanks for the new chapter.

ReplyDelete@ squek: At least on mediafire there are copies of every image file inside .rar under different name. For example there is the actual first page called ZKC252e_01.png and a copy called ._ZKC252e_01.png. These copies appear to be unopenable files with no purpose. They add a bit of size to .rar, and tend to mess up viewers like cdisplay.

I think some of the other Manga sites may have the ._ZKC files as opposed to the originals. I know Crazy Manga does. I'll see to getting the files directly, if I can.

ReplyDeleteOn a mac I can see it decompressing those .zkc_ files, but when I open the directory they're not there.

How do I fix this? I used winrar to compress it.
@Squek: Probably a mac thing (tm). I know mac os also tends to add some sort of "MACOSX" directory with random files to some archives sometimes, which also breaks CDisplay (until I delete it from the archive manually).
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it has something to do with mac os' file system. If you want I can mail/upload somewhere a .rar with those deleted.
The computer I compressed it on was a PC though. I transported the folder on a thumb drive to the PC, compressed it with WinRar, dragged it back to the mac and uploaded to mediafire. (Medafire refused to work on the PC)

I'd greatly appreciate it if you uploaded a .rar to mediafire so I can put it in the blog and archives. If it's really OS related I can't fix it.
Alright. Megaupload has the same problem, and if I make Zip files on the PC I don't get the problem. I will replace the files with those for now.

Apparently these files include info like "where this files should be on max os desktop" and such, and are invisible to mac os user him/herself.
ReplyDeleteYour problem appears to be slightly different, yet eerily similar. As I said above, probably a mac thing (tm). Using a PC gets you a proper .zip file without the silliness as you've noticed :).
Is there a version that cleans .rar files compressed on a mac?
ReplyDeleteIt's probably because I went from MAC => PC. Transferring the files to a new folder and compressing that folder got rid of extra files in both .zip and .rar folders.
I always got _MACOSX. and DSTORE files before but never this.
Essentially it's not Mac > PC as much as Mac > anything else. You'll see these files no matter the platform, even my symbian 9.4 phone showed them :).

chapters 253 and 254 are both %100 aoi only chapters.
